Lamp Revamp!

From Brass to Bronze!

My mother in law is completely renovating her kitchen and wanted to keep this fixture. I jumped from store to store looking for some oil rubbed bronze paint and finally gave up on it and just opted for ONE can of the bronze applance/fixture spray paint ($4.50!). I completed this project in one evening and the most time consuming part of this was just taping the glass to protect it from overspray. Other than that, my only sugesstion is to take a picture of how it fits together before you begin taking it apart or you will sit there for an hour trying to reasimble it. Good Luck! She loved the outcome!
Here are some before and after pictures: Enjoy!
Paited, dried, reassembled & DONE!

Vintage Chest of Drawers

My mom found this for me at a garage sale for $40. I kept it white, but destressed it a little to get the shabby chic / vintage french look for my guest bedroom!!! All I did was sand down the areas that had some paint chipping away, cleaned it up and sprayed two coats of "Dove" colored paint on it. I kept the original hardwear on the bottom four drawers and bought two new crystal ones for the top drawers. I like the way it turned out...it didn't take much work, just a little TLC!

Moss Letter

This is a moss letter I made for my back door! I just took a large piece of florist foam and carved out the letter and then took some green moss and hot glued it to the foam! Oh yeah, and I stuck a little bird in there too!!! I think he completes it! The camera didn't do the colors in this picture justice!!! The door is red, not orange and the moss is green not this funky brown!!! Oh well, I still like it!

Hutch Redo

My camera wasn't working when I received this piece so I took a picture with my phone which uploaded to a 1"x 1" image! (not going to work)

Anyway, I don't have the before picture, but just picture this thing brown and moldy! I used TSP on it and then I took a cheap sponge brush, some 50% off red paint from Walmart and began painting. Two coats of red paint later I was ready to destress it! I took a old cloth towel, wet half of it and then used some black paint. I only used small amounts of paint on the wet side of the towel... wipe on ... then wipe off with the dry side of the towel. Thats it!

After doing this all over the hutch, I put on the original hardwear back on and decorated it with wedding gifts that have been in the closet for two years! I am happy with the way it turned out and to free up a closet!!!

Plate Wall

This is my small yet, unique plate wall. I didn't have much room to work with over my stove, so I had to leave a few plates out :o( Oh well! I still like it!
